Product Video & Content Production
SofinWave Media makes video and written content about products, and distributes it through affiliate channels. It started as our own marketing — we were already filming and writing about the tools we used — and became a service once the process was repeatable. What makes it different from a generic production shop is that we understand the products technically, so the content explains what the thing actually does.
What we produce
Everything is built around a product and a specific viewer decision, not around a content calendar.
- Product videos: demonstrations, walkthroughs, and comparisons.
- Written reviews and buying guides with the detail a technical buyer wants.
- Short-form cuts adapted per platform rather than reposted unchanged.
- Landing-page copy and assets that match what the content promised.
How affiliate work is handled
Affiliate revenue only survives if the audience trusts the recommendation, which means the incentive has to be visible and the assessment has to be honest.
- Affiliate relationships disclosed on every piece that carries one.
- We say what a product is bad at. Content that never criticises stops being read.
- We turn down products we would not use, because one bad recommendation costs more than the commission.
Why an engineering team does this
Most product content is written by people who have not used the product beyond the marketing page. We build software for a living, so when we review a developer tool, an integration, or a platform, we have run it. That is the entire advantage, and it does not transfer to categories we know nothing about — which is why we stay near technology and tooling.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you work with brands directly?
- Yes, on production and on distribution. Terms depend on whether the work is a straight production contract or an affiliate arrangement — tell us which you are after and we will be specific.
- Will you say positive things about our product?
- We will say accurate things about it. If we cannot recommend it honestly, we will decline the work rather than publish something that costs us the audience.
- What categories do you cover?
- Mainly technology, developer tooling, and business software — the areas we actually use. We are not a general review channel and would be worse than useless outside that.
